| Learning to Randomize Practitioners from 30 countries attended J-PAL training courses on how to run randomized evaluations in Abuja (Nigeria), Cambridge (USA), and Chennai (India) during June and July 2007. The Abuja course was sponsored by Total and the Chennai course hosted by the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR). The courses were taught by J-PAL Directors and faculty. Participating organizations included the Azim Premji Foundation, Care, the Colombian National Planning Department, US Department of Labor, Google.org, Millennium Challenge Corporation, Oxfam, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, Save the Children, and the World Bank along with representatives of ministries of education from across sub-Saharan Africa.
